When first looking at this fight i automatically see that the more confident of 2 seems to be haye. This is becuase he is already the champion and has confidence in his abilty. However the more arogant of the 2 seems to be harrison , he isnt the champion which makes me think he is trying to play mind game with haye to make him think he is better than he actually is.

Harrison wants to beat haye but do it in style which is why he is trying to play to the cameras which shows how confident he is with himself and with his training performance. He also seems laid back giving haye the impression he doesnt see him as a threat and is improving on this image by wearing sunglases.

In other interviews i have watched i have noticed harrison quoting like the ref " harrison is the new champion of the world" in the loud slow voice. This also would put fear into haye.

However haye doesnt seem to be put off by this and seems to act calm and cool and in his own way seems to stamp autority over the match.

On the day maybe harrison will have a catosrophy thoery where he is so hyped up he may collapes or haye may have that too.

OVERALL i think that haye in my oppinion has the edge however harrison has made it a fight worth watching

As soon as the clip starts you can straight away see that david haye is the more confident of the pair and he thinks harrison is a joke, he looks quite relaxed in the interview whereas harrison looks tense and seems to be getting aggitated by how confident haye is, he fights back though with confident comments such as saying he will be the new champion and quoting what the announcer would say if he won. There seems to be a very intense rivalry between the two which goes back years although the rivalry gets very childish when they start having arguments about whos fater etc.

i believe most of this arguing and pettiness is due to them wanting to get people to watch the fight.

overall i would say that haye being the champion is very arrogant and cocky which he can back up being the champ but harrsion is also very arrogant and cocky and i believe this is because he wants to scare harrison and make him think that he will beat him.

In the beginning you can see that both boxers have extrinsic peronalities. This is because they were both straight back at one another after each comment when someone with an intrinsic personality is more likely to take the things said in rather than react back at the person.

I think that Haye is more of a drive theory kind of person because as the match gets more competitive,he is more likely to take it in his stride and perform better. An example of this is the match against Nikolai Valuev because many people thought that Haye would not beat him however he performed well and won the match. However Harrison had more of an inverted U performance as he said lots of stuff bigging himself up and failed to fight at all in the match against Haye.

The confidence with Haye would be high as well because he is the Heavy Weight Champion beating as already mentioned Nikolai Valuev who was huge and very powerful. With that behind him Haye can come across more confident than his opponent.

In conclusion to be a boxer I think that you need to have an extrinsic personality to be a good boxer as you must think that you are better than your opponent. Haye could have become so confident that Harrison doubted whether he could win and let himself slip, thus allowing Haye to easily win the match.

at the beginning of this video, we can see that david haye is the more confident person as he has a lot more to say than audley harrison. Also harrison looks like he is just saying a come back for the sake of it, and like he already knows he is defeated. Haye has great motivation as he is already champion so he feels confident in retaining the title.

we can clearly see that haye is an extrovert as he just says what he thinks and doesn't hold back. we can also see harrison is an extrovert as he always comes back, but haye is more of an extrovert. i also believe that haye has the drive theory as he gradually gets better the more the fight goes on. in conjucntion with this, i believe that harrison has more of a inverted u theory as he does well, but when he has a certain amount of pressure, he will have a drop in his performance.

So in conclusion i feel that david haye has a lot more confidence and personality as he looked and spoke confidently, whereas harrison looked a bit nervous and didnt really know what to say, or how much to say.

i believe that haye look very relax and confidence as his body language is very relax. his confidence also shows though having a extrovert personallity. harrison also comes across as being confidenent but he is moving and looking uncomfortable in this video showing a feeling of being nervouse

during the fight haye showed the drive theory as his proformance increased linearly with the level of his arousal however harrison showed catastrophe theory as he started using good technique however his proformance went down very quickly and harrison was extrinsicly motivated and not motivated with passion and because he loves the sport.

in conclusion i believe that haye deserved to win before and during the fight as his confidence matches his proformance and he has the perfect personality for a boxer and he is also a winner as he does what he does because he loves his sport and not driven by tangable rewards such as money.

Right from the start of the video clip it is clear that David Haye is the much more confident of the two. This confidence reflects his extrovert personality and also indicates his cognitive arousal. However this does not mean that Harrison was any less confident, beacause as we see in the he immediately resonds to all of Haye's comments which reflects his own extrovert personality.
As we saw in the fight David Haye utilised the drive theory as he was more confident which made the quality of his performance much better enabling him to retain the title which portrays the image that he was intrinsically motivated. Unfortunately as we saw for Harrison it appears that he made use of the catastrophe theory showing that his confidence was his downfall as his arousal caused his performance to decrease extremely quickly. This shows evidence that he was extrinsically motivated and was only in it for the money.
Since Harrison experienced the catastrophe theory his trainer should help him to reduce his cognitive arousal by applying positive feedback techniques to help him get back on his pedestool and start training again, possibly harder than he had before so he can start winning fights again.

The start of this clearly shows that David Haye has a strong side type A personalilty. This is reflected in how confident he has and how he has the need to achieve, Harrison also show's this and how he wants the glory and the title of heavy weight champion. Both show extrovert personalities as they both show confidence in their own ablilty to box. Their type A personaility clearly reflects on their confidence, esteem and motivation. Haye has a very important title to hang onto where as Harrison has something to aim for, therefore both having extrinsic goals. Haye has an instrinsic goal, knocking Harrison out in three rounds where as Harrison probably just wants to beat the champion of heavy weight boxing.

During the fight the motivation of Harrison might decrease due to nerves, crowds and actually fear/anxiety slow effecting him, this might then change his need to achieve to need to avoid failure. Where as Haye will be dictating the fight therefore his attitude and need to achieve will not change. Harrison attitude could change due to external factors affecting his actual potential, like for example the entrance Haye makes, may create a lot of anxiety.

David Haye will show the Drive theory this is because in most previous boxing games he progress's in performance and his arousal increases due to keep getting hit, where as harrison reflects the inverted U theory, this is because he starts slowly in previous fight rights works his way up then either has knocked out the other person or wins on points due to the 5,6,7 and 8th round where he dictates.

I think from that interview the more confident of the two is Haye even though he doesnt show it. He is more relaxed laid back because he is the champion and he trusts his abilities to beat Harrison. Harrison is just trying to play for the cameras and trying to demoralise Haye through diffrent comments about Haye(e.g: he got K.O. by a lightweight before). Haye however is very calm and knows that he can win the fight without having to play for the cameras.Harrison is trying to hide his emotions and his reactions by wearing glasses. This makes him harder to "read". Even though he is trying to act laid back and relaxed one can see that he is tensed about the fight.
From the interview I think Haye came out the winner. As he did in the fight.

When viewing the video, it is clear to see that both competitors are trying to intimidate the other. This is to try and gain an advantage, and make their opponent think about what they have said, and not focus on their own tactics. Furthermore, while they try and intimidate each other, they don't always talk about the fight, and past fights, which shows that they are trying to gain any advantage possible, and raise the aggression of the other person.

Both competitors have an extrovert personality, and have more traits from a type A personality. I believe that they have both gained their personalities from traits inherited, as well as social learning, which is what the interactionist theory states. I believe they are both very confident people who want to achieve, but have not picked up all of their traits from either inheriting them, or social learning (however i do believe that social learning has had a big impact on both of their personalities).

Both of the competitors have the extrinsic goal of becoming the heavyweight champion of the world, and gaining the belt and the prize money. However they both have intrinsic goals too, as they both believe they are the best boxer in the world and they want to prove this to themselves and evrybody else. It is clear to see they are both motivated before the match, but when nerves and anxiety occur in the match we will be able to see their true personality, and whether they stick to their word and attack the other, or sit back and defend. This will depend on their need to achieve, or need to avoid failure.

From watching the video it is clear that both competitors have strong type A personality traits. They are both highly competitive and are both thriving to win the title. However, they are both very confident which i believe they are both showing in the conference in order to intimidate each other and are using insults and past performances to mentally weaken and disintegrate each other.

As they are making each other more aggressive through their arguement, it could cause them to perform better through drive theory, however, the inverted U could cause both of their performances to drop if too aroused. I also believe that their behaviour in the conference will affect other amateur boxers through social-learning theory and their arguement isn't very professional.

I believe that both these performers personallity types were mainly developed from social learning, as from a young age they became competitive with the need to keep on learning and get better through watching others. Also their motivation will not only be extrinsic by winning the title but also intrinsic goals of beating one an other to prove each other wrong.

From this clip I can tell that both of the boxers have an extrinsic personality. Haye leads the insults and is seemingly leading the banter, however Harrison shows good determination and doesn’t let Haye completely win the big talk. What Haye also does well is to wind Harrison up as he appears to get agitated about what Haye is saying, whereas Haye is not letting anything get to him.
From the fight and older Haye fights we can see that he applies the Drive Theory to win the fight, as it gets more intense he begins to take the upper hand. An example of this is when Haye actually knocks Harrison out, he starts throwing, jabs, hooks and upper cuts left and right handed- non stop to defeat him.
Although Harrison portrays himself as having high sporting confidence, the evidence of the fight itself suggests the opposite – that he is in fact lacks confidence as he would not throw a punch so he doesn’t trust his abilities to out weigh Haye’s abilities . It could be argued that Harrison suffered with the Catastrophe theory as he got so hyped up and wanted to win the fight so badly that he lost sight of what to do and his performance didn’t match his hype.

From initially watching the interview I feel that Haye is the more confident out of the two and shows us this through his very laidback body language and smug attitude that he portrays throughout the interview. This suggests to onlookers that he doesn’t care whoever he has to fight as he believes he is the best and can beat anyone. He also shows his extrovert type of personality through his very direct and aggressive approach to the answering of questions and replying back to remarks made by Harrison.

When it came to the fight we saw that Haye performed the Drive Theory which enabled him to win the fight, his arousal and state anxiety increased to its maximum and enhanced his performance for the better which gave him the edge and allowed him to go on and throw a skilled combination of punches that went on to knock Harrison out.
